The American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) is proud to offer a Southern Division honors chorus for treble and mixed chorus in Winston-Salem, NC. Students prepare the audition at their schools and send a recording via Mp3 file.
Students and Parents interested in this honor should go to the above website to learn more about the event. The following bullets give you a brief overview. If you like participating in exciting music events, this is worth your time!!!

  • Who: All NMS choral students are eligible to apply. You should be able to sing independently and in tune, and be confident with music reading skills.

  • What: The ACDA Southern Division Honor Chorus runs in conjunction with the ACDA Southern Conference. Choral directors from around the south convene annually to learn about the art of choral music and to hear wonderful choral groups from across the country. The ACDA Southern Division Honors Chorus is part of this concert series and represents the very finest in the region.

  • When: Audition dates are throughout the month of September. Students must make an appointment with Mrs. Busman to learn and record their audition. The actual event in Chicago is February 29th through March 3th, 2012.

  • Where: The event is in Winston-Salem, NC at wonderful performing venues under the direction of excellent, college-level conductors.

Initial application cost is $30 with $125 acceptance fee due only after you have been selected for the event. All transportation, meals, and housing costs are the responsibilities of the applicants.  Parents are expected to supervise their students during the event.
